Class News

Let's take a closer look! There was so much to see and the children loved when I took out the magnifying glasses. I love the look on their faces as they were investigating autumn.

This Week in KL

This week we continuing reading from the Book of Genesis..."In the beginning..." We will be thanking God for the gift of animals. We will be watching short videos from National Geographic. They have amazing pictures of God's amazing animals.

We will meet a new Superkid this week. He actually isn't a person he is a dog. His name is Golly. Golly introduces the initial sound of /g/. This is a great sound with Halloween being so close. We will read lots of Halloween stories. We will listen for the hard sound of /g/, we will learn the formation, and will improve our comprehension skills as we listen and answer questions about the stories we read.

This week in GoMath we will learn all about the number 5. We are practicing counting and writing the formation. We will learn to decompose the number 5. This simply means the many ways to show five (3,2   4,1   5,0) We will learn the term number bonds. We learn by doing, so the children will have the opportunity to complete tasks decomposing 5. We will have a hands on activity to decompose the number 5.

We have story time every day. We are having fun with the first author/illustrator, Eric Carle. We are reading SO many books and we are painting and using Eric Carle's techniques at activity time.
It's messy, but so much fun!! Our Art Center will be a fun place to be this week!!

I am happy to announce that we have 2 class parents this year--Mrs. Samuel and Mr. Ausecha! They will be reaching out to you for contact information so when our class is having an event you will be well informed.
