WHO SENDS THEIR CHILDREN TO OLV SCHOOL?
People who believe that education should include not only academics but spiritual growth. OLV School has an excellent academic record. Professional teachers, active and concerned parents, excellent administrators, and an environment conducive to learning, form the basis of a winning educational program.
Our Lady of Victory School adds another important aspect to the formation of our students - religion. At Our Lady of Victory School, your child receives the message of the Gospel during religion class and throughout the day. Everything we do is based on Jesus’ teachings of love. We strive to impart Christian principles to our children in a way that has successfully produced young adults for many years - who go forth with an excellent academic background and a desire to serve the Kingdom of God.
OUR PURPOSE
At Our Lady of Victory School, we believe that our purpose is to provide for the education and gradual growth and development of the whole child - spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically, by meeting the needs of each individual child within a Christian atmosphere.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We, the teacher-educators of the children of Our Lady of Victory School, hold the following statements to be the philosophy of our school:

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

All grades benefit from a one-to-one device program with three layers of safe filtering/monitoring.
HISTORY
Our Lady of Victory School was opened in 1931. Until the school building was finished in 1932, the Sisters of Saint Joseph taught the students in the convent. In 1962, a new wing was added to the school. It houses eight additional classrooms and a school cafeteria. Our Lady of Victory School enrollment approaches 400 students from Nursery to Grade 8, and is fully accredited by the Diocese of Rockville Centre and the New York State Education Department.
The Coat of Arms
The upper half center of the design displays a galley ship surrounded by rosary beads, symbolizing the victory of the Christian fleet during the Crusades which met the Turkish forces at the Battle of Lepanto in the Gulf of Corinth on October 7, 1571; on the left, a long sword symbolizes the Christian forces, and on the right, a scimitar - the sword of the Turkish forces. The lower half of the design displays, on the left side, three roses - the symbol of the Village of Floral Park; in the center - the bejeweled letter “M” for Mary and the crown for the Queen of Heaven; and on the right, the tree is the symbol of the Village of Bellerose.
